- Who collects the money spent on raffle tickets and where does the money go?
All money collected from the sale of raffle tickets is held in the sponsoring charity organization's bank account (usually an Escrow bank account setup specifically for the raffle in the charity's name). Raffle Mansion is designed to allow ticket buyers to select the amount of tickets they would like to purchase on our website, then the ticket buyer is forwarded directly to the payment processing page on the charity organization's website which is where the ticket purchase takes place. Tickets are never actually sold by Raffle Mansion or on Raffle Mansion's website.
- What if not enough tickets are sold in a raffle?
Most raffles are reverted to a 50/50 cash drawing if enough raffle tickets are not sold to give away the home. This means that the raffle is still held, with one winner receiving a check for 50% of the net proceeds and the charity also receiving 50%. Please refer to the rules on each raffle page for specific details of that event.
- Do we verify the legitimacy of all charity organizations on our website?
Raffle Mansion takes every reasonable measure to ensure that all charity raffles on our website are conducted by qualified non-profit organizations. If you have any questions regarding the legitimacy of an organization on our website, please contact us.
- Do we verify that each charity on our website complies with all laws pertaining to a charity raffle?
Our attorneys have spent countless hours researching state laws and international laws to make sure that all laws are followed not only by us, but by charity organizations on our website as well. However, due to state legislature constantly changing, we can not guarantee that all organizations are in compliance with all law requirements.
